What is Tabby card and who is eligible for it?
Tabby Card is a Visa bank card that enables customers to shop with merchants within or outside Tabby's network depending on the customer's Tabby card type. It is designed to offer flexibility in everyday spending.
To get the Tabby Card, a customer must:
- Be a UAE resident
- Have a Valid Emirates ID on hand
- Be above the age of 18
This product is currently only available in the UAE in the form of virtual cards (also called digital cards). This means customers cannot get a physical Tabby card but can add a digital version to payment wallets such as Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Pay.
To use a Tabby card added to these wallets, the mobile device must have an NFC chip.
What are the types of Tabby card?
There are 2 types of Tabby card that a customer can have -
In-store Card
Customers request an increase in budget (internally known as one-time limit) to be able to purchase at Tabby card partner stores.
Pre-approved Card
Customers shop using a pre-assigned limit. This card can be used at Tabby card partner stores or anywhere with a Tabby Plus subscription.
How are they issued?
Tabby Cards can be issued via:
- Tabby website: To apply for the Tabby Card from the website, click the link and scan the QR code to download the app, then follow the steps to start the application process.
- Tabby app: To apply for the Tabby Card on the app, scan the front and back of your ID, complete the face verification, review your information, and your card will be issued!
- Through offline stores: Customers can also initiate the card issuing process from a Partner Site page in the app or by scanning the QR code in offline Partner Stores (not all Partners currently have this option).
